Cleaning the ears with cotton swabs or tweezers is an unpleasant and painful procedure for the dog. Frequent consequences are injuries to the sensitive skin of the ear canal and eardrum, caused by the animal's defensive movements. The success of this method is also doubtful, because it often just pushes the wax into the lower part of the ear canal, where it remains as a solid plug.

The Canosept ear washing method dissolves wax and dirt and therefore also produces a gentle cleansing of the lower sections of the ear canal.

Otitis externa is an inflammation of the skin in the external ear canal. Otitis is also known in the vernacular as "ear worm". The main cause of otitis externa is the special tendency of certain dog breeds to develop eczema, as well as long, dense ear hair or a heavy coat (e.g. spaniel) that closes the ear canal. In addition, an increased production of earwax, hardened earwax, ear mites or accumulations of dirt such as dandruff that have penetrated the ear.

The animal's first signs are shaking and trying to scratch the ear, redness of the skin of the external auditory canal (inner lining of the ear), combined with an increase in heat in the ear. In addition to redness, there may also be itchy swelling, as well as increased production of brown-black cerumen in some cases, which gives off a typical foul odor.

If otitis is not treated, a purulent and very painful ear infection develops, which considerably deteriorates the general condition and, as it progresses, can spread to the organs of the inner ear and cause permanent damage.

For your pet's health, preventative treatment is an important task for the dog owner.

Ingredients 125 ml of solution contains: Active ingredients: benzalkonium chloride 0.145 g, propan-2-ol 45.0 g, propan-1-ol 30.0 g.

Other ingredients: glycerin 85%, isopropyl myristate, tetradecanol, purified water, aromatic substances

Lift the tip of the ear and drip Canosept until you see a liquid level, then massage the ear with your hands for one minute. Then, the dog shakes off the excess liquid, wax and dirt released.

Ear washing is a pleasant and painless method for dogs and effectively removes any dirt.

Little trick: If necessary, remove coarse dirt from the external ear canal with a damp cotton pad to obtain an optimal effect.

Safety Warning Canosept ear washing method: warm canosept in hand before use. Hold the tip of the ear (ear canals) with one hand (image 1). Pour warm Canosept into the auricle until the liquid level is visible. Do not apply the liquid with pressure deep into the ear canal (image 2). Massage the ear canal (atrium) between your thumb and index finger at an angle from bottom to top for approximately 1 minute (image 3).

The dog will shake off any excess canosept with the dissolved wax and dirt on its own.

For regular preventive treatment of dogs prone to otitis, we recommend cleaning the ears with Canosept once a week.

Dogs at lower risk of otitis should be treated preventively with Canosept every 14 days.

If the ear is very dirty, it should be filled with Canosept and massaged a second time.
