DESCRIPTION:

• Allows effective dissolution of struvite stones in the dog.


• Urinary acidification is unfavorable to bacterial development, often responsible for this type of stones.


• Urinary undersaturation creates unfavorable conditions for the development of struvite and calcium oxalate crystals.


• Urinary dilution reduces the concentration of struvite and calcium oxalate in the urine.


• The increase in urinary volume also favors regular emptying of the bladder.


• Sodium polyphosphate binds to salivary calcium, making it unavailable for tartar formation.

• Rice, corn flour, dehydrated poultry meat, animal fat, corn gluten, hydrolysed animal proteins, minerals, vegetable fibers, wheat gluten, dehydrated egg, soy oil, fish oil, fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS), Tage flower extract (source of lutein).

Royal Canin Urinary S/O Small Dog under 10kg USD is indicated for: bacterial cystitis, dissolution of struvite uroliths, struvite urolithiasis and calcium oxalate.

Contraindications: pregnancy, lactation, growth, pancreatitis, hyperlipidemia, heart disease, treatment with urine acidifiers, chronic renal failure.

Period of administration: 5 to 12 weeks of nutritional therapy are required to obtain the dissolution of urinary stones.

In case of urinary tract infection, Urinary S/O Small Dog should be prescribed, associated with an antibacterial agent, for another month after obtaining a negative bacteriological urine analysis.
